Staff Spotlight: Leigh Cooper, Development Director

We are incredibly excited to welcome a new face to our PPS-SF staff, our new Development Director Leigh Cooper! Read more about her and what led her to PPS-SF below.

Name & Title: Leigh Cooper, Development Director.

Short bio of Leigh’s background & experience: Leigh was raised in the southern U.S. by a public school teacher, attended public schools, and eventually landed in nonprofit work. Her professional background is in grant writing and she worked for disability organizations for many years prior to joining PPS-SF. She loves spreadsheets (pivot tables!), identifying a problem and writing a proposed solution, and talking about schools!

Why she chooses to do this work: Leigh is a SFUSD parent who is passionate about equity in schools!

Fun fact about Leigh: She sings Sacred Harp, an a cappella, 4-part harmony style of music (sometimes called “shape note” music).
