Meet the Staff: Rachel Nip, Director of Programs

Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco is a small but mighty team. We are parents, community leaders, and public school advocates. Our staff represents a wide array of ages, languages, and countries of origin. One thing we share in common: our passion for public education as a foundation of a liveable city for everyone.

Name & Title: Rachel Nip, Director of Programs

Why you choose to do this work: I grew up outside of the US and understand the difficulties of navigating life here as an immigrant. Growing up in Singapore, I had a bilingual education in English and Chinese. I didn't always know I was going to work in education and the non-profit sector but feel so grateful that my experiences and language skills have naturally led me to this work. I feel lucky to be working alongside my co-workers, PPS-SF's community partners, and families as all of us play a role in supporting children to become their best selves.

Fun fact about you (outside of work): I love performing and being a part of the arts community. You just may happen to see me in Bay Area community theater productions or dance performances.

Short quote:  "You never stop learning."
