Tacolicious and Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco Announce New Partnership

It’s not a tough sell: eat more tacos. This is exactly what two local organizations have teamed up to ask San Francisco communities to do.

Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco (PPS-SF) and Tacolicious have created a new partnership that will build upon each organization’s commitment to elevating the success of all public schools.

PPS-SF will promote the Tacolicious School Project, which has raised over $820,000 for public education by donating 15% of Monday proceeds to individual schools.

“We want to encourage everyone to eat tacos on Mondays for schools. This is a delicious way to make a difference in your community, even if you don’t have kids,” says Robin Dutton-Cookston, PPS-SF Director of Communications.

In exchange, Tacolicious will remind customers about the variety of services that PPS-SF offers to families, including SFUSD enrollment support and tools to help parents become engaged and empowered leaders in their school communities.

"Tacolicious is so excited to partner with Parents for Public Schools. Their values are aligned perfectly with the Tacolicious School Project and our mission to support public education and community. As everyone who sends their kids to public schools here knows, it's the parent community that raises a school up! And they need all the support they can get,” says Sara Deseran, Co-Founder of Tacolicious.

In addition to the Tacolicious School Project, the two organizations will collaborate to promote the Tacolicious Taco Open golf tournament, an annual event that will raise funds to support the work of PPS-SF and create a college scholarship for a San Francisco public school graduate.

“We are thrilled to partner with Tacolicious, who serve as an exemplary model of how businesses can actively partner with schools and families by creating opportunities for all San Franciscans to support our schools,” says Teresa Arriaga, PPS-SF Executive Director.
